The company evolved from the workshop of the family firm, “Avon Sportsground Maintenance Company”, a team of bowling green specialists, who, after finding waiting times unacceptable from external workshops, decided to open their own, ‘in house’ facility in Keynsham, Bristol, to maintain their vast array of fine-turf mowers & associated machinery.
David Phillips was employed as the company’s engineer for a number of years before setting up D.J.Phillips-Horticultural Engineering. In 2003 the business was moved to its present location in Hallatrow, occupying a brand new building measuring over 3500 square feet, which houses our extensive showroom, workshop and stores.
Over the past thirty years, the company has maintained steady growth, with a firm foundation of loyal customers as varied as local councils, contractors, public schools, colleges & private sports clubs, all enjoying our unrivalled levels of service, expertise and value. We regularly collect from all the counties throughout the South-West of England, and now, thanks to our online presence, our products are now accessible nationwide via our reliable courier service.
